Shooting campout - roster update - PLEASE READ

Posted on Feb 11 2020 - 2:01pm

Our annual shooting campout is coming up this weekend. Below is the current roster that I have, both adults and scouts. Please review - if your name is not on this list and you are planning on going you need to do two things:

Shooting campout update

Posted on Feb 7 2020 - 2:02pm

Weather expectations - Current long range weather forecast for St. Jo, TX - highs on Saturday around 55, lows are going to be right around 32. Currently there is no precipitation in the forecast but it will be cold in the evening/morning both days with only light cloud cover. Make sure you dress for the conditions, monitor the weather, and bring warm sleeping gear. If you do not have a proper sleeping pad I highly recommend you purchase one. Sleeping on the ground or just using an air pad with no insulation will wick your body heat away and make for a much colder night. If you want me to sign off on merit badge requirements, you need to bring a blue card as well.

Adults - if you are driving please indicate in the comments section of the RSVP page how many seats you have in your vehicle for passengers (do not include your scout, we need total available seatbelts). This tends to be a large, well attended event and we will need multiple vehicles for transportation. In addition - if you have a food allergy please let me know as I am handling the grubmaster duties.

Schedule - meet at the scout hut at 530 pm on Friday, 2/14 with an anticipated departure of 630. Eat your sack dinner on the way. Arrive at camp, set up tents, enjoy a cracker barrel and lights out. Shoot all day Saturday, clean the firearms in the evening. Prepare all meals at camp for Saturday and breakfast Sunday. Pack up for departure after breakfast on Sunday, stop for gas at Rumpys (kolaches/donuts for purchase there) and plan to be back at the hut by 1230 pm, if not earlier.
