Remaining Troop Adult Volunteer Needs

Posted on Jun 20 2020 - 10:04pm

THANK YOU to the following adults for stepping up to volunteer with the troop.

Beth Haynes will serve as our new Acheivements Chair. Rolf Gatlin will serve as our Medical Form Coordinator.

We still have a few remaining needs for adult volunteers - the foundation of this troop is stronger when we have more adults connected and helping keep things going behind the scenes. Even if you can not commit to a big job, many hands make the work lighter for all!

1. Flower Sale & Camp Card Fundraising: We are looking for a new adult leader to organize the flower fundraiser that is held in the fall and spring. This involves coordinating with the store owner, editing the sale flyer, communicating the details to the troop, collecting orders to submit to the store owner, and coordinating the distribution of the orders to scouts when the flowers come in.

We also need a point person for the Camp Card fundraiser held in late spring - this can be done separately from flower sales or as a part of the same role.  A simpler job, this fundraising task involves handing out the cards to scouts to sell and communicating the details to the troop. Money & unsold cards then need to be collected and returned to the council.

2. Hospitality: this adult serves the troop by organizing the receptions held after our three annual Courts of Honor ceremonies (September, January and May - usually). The work involved is to create and share a sign-up genius list to recruit other adult help for set up, bringing food and drinks, and cleaning up for these receptions.  Its a delegating and organizing job.

3. Registration/Council Point Person: We have a need for a volunteer to help our Committee Chair manage the paperwork that must be handed in to the council office and sort out any questions with registration. This task typically involves a monthly visit to the council office for various administrative matters.

If you are interested or have questions about any of these volunteer needs, please contact Kyle Donovan at chair@t444.org

Spring Flower Fundraiser -- Success!!

Posted on Jun 20 2020 - 10:04pm

Between T444 and T444G, our scouts raised a total of $2781 in flower sales this spring - well done!  From that amount, $1960, has been placed into campership accounts for scouts who requested funds for camp, trips or other scout costs.  Congratulations, Scouts, on helping to earn your way for the adventures you enjoy.

Traffic Control for Pastor Blair's Goodbye Parade

This is a way for the Troop to say thank you for Pastor Blair's support these last four years (while earning service hours).

  • Orange vests for our volunteers from Pastor Maggie
  • Traffic cones from Kara Ross, the Dayschool Director

Troop Needs:

  • Scout and parent volunteers to direct cars into a traffic flow that will wind through the north parking lot (RSVP here)
